Aldebaran Park is ideally situated in the heart of the Goulburn Valley Stud region in Victoria on The Goulburn Valley Highway approximately 10 minutes north of Nagambie and 20 minutes south of Shepparton with direct access to Browns Road from the Goulburn Valley Highway. The farm consists of 2 properties of almost 150 acres of pastures with irrigation and water rights to the nearby East Goulburn Channel.

Established in 2004, Initial construction at the property included an individually designed shed and barn facility, vet room and office facilities along to AQIS certified standards with an extensive paddock and fencing program complimented with the planting of some 5,000 trees and the installation of an automated sprinkler system to the 20 main paddocks.

These initial facilities were then complimented by the completion of a ten stall yearling barn, roundyard and staff accommodation areas along with the house, horse walker, additional stallion and AQIS certified quarantine facilities and new and redeveloped mares and agistment paddocks over some 15 acres of land along with the planting of an additional 2500 trees.

2015 saw extensive paddock rehabilitation and soil improvement undertaken along with the upgrading of the irrigation system. These improvements have resulted in paddocks flourishing in the off seasons and with the continued pastoral improvement we have undertaken we are sure that this will continue to have an impact on the success of the rearing of our progeny.

2016 saw the completion of roof structures to the horse walking area and a covered vaulted roof structure to the stalled and specific Yearling Barn area.

2017 saw the completion of another fully enclosed 12 stall yearling barn complete with tack rooms and storage facilities along with improved and reconfigured foaling yards.

2019 saw the installation of silos for grain and feed storage and general upgrades to the landscaped areas including new lawns within the irrigated forecourt.

2022 saw the installation of the yearling run up and fencing alignments to enhance the yearling videos produced annually for the Australian Yearling Sales.

In 2024 we have continued pasture improvement and added to our plant and machinery inventory to assist us in this process.

Aldebaran Park continues to develop and improve its infrastructure as we go forward and we strive to be a Standardbred property with state of the art facilities which allows the property to be an operation of International standard.

All development compliments the objective of the team at Aldebaran Park - to provide individual care to horses and to set standards of quality of horse agistment and stud duties at international levels.

With well bred Trotting Mares in residence, the Breeding season in 2024/2025 will be one to look forward to with the addition of many well credentialled racemares having retired from racing.

Our 2023 Foals have all been weaned and we are excited at the opportunities which will be afforded to purchasers of our Foals at yearling sales in 2025.

Solid patronage of our resident stallions – Dancinginthedark M USA – 2, 1.52.2: 3, 1.49.3  ( Readly Express SWE – Leila USA) and Australasia’s No. 1 colonial stallion Skyvalley NZ T 1.56.2 ( Muscles Yankee USA - Chiolas Lass NZ) - has been just reward for these stallions and no doubt breeders will reap the rewards with their progeny in the coming years. Our defunct Group 1 USA winning Aldebaran Eagle USA T3 1.52.2 (Muscle Hill USA - Letsjustalkboutme USA) will be available by Frozen Semen in New Zealand only this season.

We look forward with anticipation to the continued preparation of our yearlings for the upcoming 2025 Nutrien Trotting Sale in April in Victoria which sees us offering a number of superbly bred progeny with bloodlines and genetic opportunities available to those who wish to race the horses and in the case if the Fillies, for those who may wish to breed.
