Aldebaran Park produces winners in three countries - May 2024

Aldebaran Park, one of Victoria’s leading trotting nurseries, had winners in three different countries in May.

Topping the bill was the three-year-old gelding Generally Speaking Swe (by Readly Express Swe), who posted his third win at only his third start in a $14,000 race in 1:57.8 at Oak Grove Raceway, Kentucky on May 13.

The first foal of the Australasian trotting mile record holder and 2018 Elitloppet runner Maori Time – T 1.51.1 – 24 wins - $421,840 - Generally Speaking Swe was bred in Sweden by Aldebaran Park, who races the gelding with Melbourne enthusiasts Fred and Elizabeth Crews, Menhammar Stud, Sweden and American interests. He is trained in Kentucky by Jonas Czernyson and was driven by Kristin Shetler.

Maori Time, who has arrived back in Victoria, and Aldebaran Bardot Swe (Charly Du Noyer Fra - Aldebaran Teal Swe) are both carrying positive tests to the 2021 Swedish Horse of the Year Calgary Games Swe, a multiple Group 1 winning son of Readly Express Swe. In addition to the mares Maori Time’s 3rd foal – a colt by Fourth Dimension – Just in Passing – is arriving back here with the mares with 28th June 2024 as their shipment date from Germany. They will then complete quarantine here in Melbourne before all arriving at Aldebaran Park in mid-July. Exciting times indeed!!

In New Zealand, Aldebaran Park’s resident sire Skyvalley NZ was represented by the winners Kimkar Dash - T 1.57.2 10 wins - $146,256 (Auckland) and the three-year-old Timmy Turtle (Invercargill).
